Marburg Castle, covering an area of 18.04 hectares, is located in the town of Marburg, Poland, and was once the headquarters of the German Teutonic Knights. The castle was built in 1276 as a combination of three brick castles, which the Teutonic Knights once called Marienburg. During the reign of the German Empire, it was the first national monument in Germany, and most of the castle was destroyed during World War II. After 1945 Marburg was incorporated into Polish territory and rebuilt in 1962.
